WE ARE DELIGHTED TO WELCOME YOU TO THE LEARN TO LIVE FEDERATION

Bidwell Brook School and Ellen Tinkham School are Local Authority maintained special schools located in Devon. Together, they form the Learn to Live Federation.

Bidwell Brook, located in Dartington near Totnes, is a “Good” school educating around 158 pupils aged between 3-19 years of age. All the students have special educational needs.

Ellen Tinkham School, based in Exeter, is split over two sites. Primary aged pupils are taught at Hollow Lane, Exeter and Secondary aged pupils are educated at Wayside Crescent also in Exeter. Ellen Tinkham is also a "Good" Local Authority funded special school for children and young people aged 3-19 years, who have severe learning disabilities. All our 240 learners have a statement of special educational needs.

Nikki Burroughs is the Executive Head at both schools and is supported by experienced senior leaders who are based across the whole Federation. Pupils and staff from both schools work closely with each other and have forged strong links in both the classroom and in additional activities such as residential trips, sports events and rural skills work.

This successful Federation was formed in June 2014 and has a single Governing Body chaired by Steve Finnemore.
